Classic Elegance - Q-Bix

SOPHISTICATED EXTENSION OF A 1920s BUNGALOW

CLASSIC ELEGANCE - Q-BIX

This stunning kitchen was designed remotely during the first Lockdown we all experienced in Auckland. This being the case, it presented a unique experience for all involved – the result speaks for itself! The client brief was specifically related to the newly renovated extension to their gorgeous 1920s bungalow. Elegance, seamless design and a focus on entertaining were key considerations in the planning process.

The balance between the aesthetic and functional aspects of the kitchen have been accomplished successfully by incorporating the clever use of colour, materials and specific cabinetry. The bi-fold appliance garage used in this kitchen is the ideal solution to keeping the kitchen surfaces clear of clutter – leading to a seamless look of sophistication. The clever use of materials is evident in the seamless design of the large built-in pantry. The area was clad in matching Snowdrift Melteca to create the illusion that the pantry was part of the cabinetry.

With entertainment high on the list of priorities for these clients’ attention was paid to providing the perfect space for this- ample seating was created along the back of the long central island. The wine fridge was installed at the end of the island to enable the natural indoor-outdoor flow of this space.

The designer has been able to use specific materials to enhance the natural light in this kitchen to create a stunning space that exudes a lightness of design – the perfect balance for living and entertaining.

Monochrome Magic - Q-Bix

STUNNING 1950s REMUERA RENOVATION

MONOCHROME MAGIC - Q-BIX

Black and white cabinetry never fails to “WOW”, as evidenced in this spectacular Remuera kitchen. The new space needed to complement the rest of the renovated 1950s home, while also fulfilling the clients’ desire for a modern, sleek and stylish design with integrated appliances and handle-less cabinetry.

A long window splashback takes advantage of the lush green backyard, providing an optical break from the black-and-white colour palette with a refreshing strip of green at eye level.

Stunning Calacatta Gold benchtops feature in the main kitchen and scullery creating a feeling of cohesive grandeur!

Thorough planning by our designer Dominic, has ensured a highly functional space conducive to entertaining. Black, white and more than “a bit of all right” – we’re crazy for this kitchen!

Modern And Sophisticated - Q-Bix

LIGHT, BRIGHT AND OPEN

MODERN AND SOPHISTICATED - Q-BIX

A fresh new kitchen with clean lines, lightness, brightness and an open feel was the brief! Dominic worked closely with this family to create a functional kitchen with clearly designated zones to accommodate multiple people working in the space. He created a scullery from the overly-large and under-utilised previous dining area. The wine fridge is positioned near the breakfast bar seating area, close to the veranda – the perfect spot for entertaining! Quality appliances were a ‘must’ for this family who love to cook in their new, modern and sophisticated space.

Modern Executive Kitchen - Q-Bix

PERFECT FOR ENTERTAINING

MODERN EXECUTIVE KITCHEN - Q-BIX

We created this stunning modern kitchen for a beautiful family of four who love to entertain! Their previous kitchen was difficult to access (with constant collisions if there was more than one person in the kitchen!). Our talented designer Elizabeth moved the scullery door from the centre of the kitchen to the outside wall to improve the flow of traffic in the kitchen. This enabled us to create more bench space on either side of the freestanding oven and add some much needed storage space. We increased the height of the kitchen to maximise the usable space, and built a bulkhead with scotia to highlight a more thoughtful looking space. We even added a special entertainment cupboard in the scullery for the family to store extra glasses, drinks and a charging station!

The Ultimate Reno - Q-Bix

TV3 SHOW STOPPER

THE ULTIMATE RENO - Q-BIX

This kitchen was proudly supplied for the recent TV3 series “The Ultimate Reno” that followed a large renovation by Alice and Caleb Pearson (Block NZ winners 2013). This kitchen and scullery replaced a very tired original 1970s kitchen. The kitchen walls were torn down to open up the kitchen to the living areas, lending itself well to entertaining friends and family. The kitchen incorporates colours, materials and textures to really bring the space to life. The kitchen features handle-less cabinetry driven by Blum Servo-drive and overhead scissor lift doors. The kitchen sink overlooks the beautiful Waitemata Harbour and the stunning engineered stone bench top is finished with a waterfall end. The generous scullery with open shelving, large bench space and separate sink and dish drawer maximises the storage and functionality of the kitchen.
