Our latest project with Alice and Caleb Pearson is this stunning kitchen in their "Relocatable reno"
Alice and Caleb wanted to explore a mid-century style for their kitchen. "There are three elements I love about mid-century interior design: the minimal look that focuses on function, the use of bold colour and the integration of different materials. I considered every choice I made in planning this kitchen - as every decision, from kitchen layout to the shape and colour of the sink, works together to achieve a final look."
This kitchen needed to be practical and functional to suit Alice and Caleb's young family, and with the kitchen being a high traffic area of their home, they weren't willing to compromise on quality. "The combination of features from Kitchen Mania like soft closing doors, full height storage and a pull-out rubbish bin makes our kitchen practical and functional. It’s satisfying that everything can be put away, especially because our kitchen is open to both the lounge and dining."
In the kitchen it's the colours, finishing touches and styling that really bring it to life. Keeping inline with their mid-century inspiration, Alice and Caleb chose a copper tap, handles and floating shelves to add interest to their kitchen. The engineered stone bench top in Metropolis Dark adds impact and drama, and their choice of retro blush tiles and bench top appliances work perfectly with this theme.
