Kitchen Mania turns 10!

On Sunday 7th July Kitchen Mania officially turned 10! It's been the most incredible journey to this point and we're so proud of our amazing team and their achievements over the last DECADE! 
We thought we would mark the occasion by taking you on a trip down memory lane with some awesome throwbacks to the sandwich board loving, one kitchen per week, humble beginnings of Kitchen Mania.

From where it all began!

When Carl Arnold was given the keys to his newly leased commercial property in 2009 there was one single desk in our completely wall-less 120sqm office space! Kitchen Mania had 4 team members in the office and one man in our giant factory. It was clear from day dot that the kitchen needed a complete overhaul but you may be surprised to find that this didn’t come until many years later!

Why the name Kitchen Mania? Let us tell you a story!
It was in the middle of the Global Financial Crisis that Carl decided he was going to start up his own kitchen manufacturing business. He was telling a friend of his plans one day when his friend turned around and said he was “bloody crazy”! At the time the kitchen industry was shaky, many great businesses had simply not made it though the very tough financial times and Carl was completely aware that there was a very real element of risk. The word “crazy” played on his mind a bit, but never put him off. In fact it was here that he came up with the new slogan for his company “Crazy about kitchens” and put the “Mania” in Kitchen Mania.

Coming from a 30+ year background in the woodworking machinery industry, and having consulted on the setup of many incredibly successful production lines during his career, Carl knew exactly how his factory facility needed to operate. Our first machines may have been secondhand (or third even!) but they were placed into a seamless production line and served Kitchen Mania extremely well for many years!
Today we are proud to say we have retired most of our original trusty machines and they have been replaced with a modern and efficient fleet.

In 2009 our showroom opened for the very first time!
We had a huge marketing campaign with radio and billboard advertising which was wasn’t particularly common in the kitchen industry at the time. MoreFM were there at our opening with a sausage sizzle and bouncy castle and it went off like a Hit! It didn’t take long for people to start recognizing our jingle on the radio either and before we knew it, people were recognizing Kitchen Mania all over Auckland.

And then we sold our first KITHEN! Whoever was in charge of this quality roadside marketing should’ve probably stuck to their day job… Kitchens are what we do best!

We are now a whopping team of 45 and we’re turning out hundreds of quality, well designed kitchens a year! We’ve kept up with changes in technology and we’re at the forefront of kitchen design. Although we’ve come this far, some things have stayed the same. Kitchen Mania was built from the ground up on a strong set of values. We’re passionate about kitchens and we’re proud of our work. We are a very strong team and we all strive to give our customers the best experience with our company.
